TESOL就是学习成为教导非英语系国家的人使用英语的教师。目前是中国出国留学生的热门选择。TESOL证书是Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages的缩写，由TESOL协会的授权机构认证并颁发，是全球公认的ESL(教授英语为第二语言)教师职业资格证书，其技术水准代表了英语教学技能的国际标准。
学生评价：
近几年来，世界各地，尤其是亚洲国家，对英语教教师的需求急速地上升，也就是说，TESOL 就业市场正急速地在扩大。这个需求的增加在我国大陆和台湾地区最明显，海峡两岸对英语必修的要求已从中学下延到小学，越来越多的幼稚园也开始提供英语教学。专业英语教师的薪资逐年上涨，收入颇为可观。

在弗林德斯，教学被认为是最重要的，教职员工和学生的比例高于澳大利亚的平均水平，学生们与教研人员接触机会更多。大学共有631名教师和946名普通职员，79.4%的教师具有高级学位（在澳大利亚名列最高12名）。学校的四个院系共提供40多种学士学位，各学科都设有研究生点。15110名学生中1700多人来自75个国家的国际留学生。
