As you may be aware, recipients of UWA's Global Excellence Scholarship and International Student Award are required to maintain continued satisfactory progress throughout their studies, in accordance with the rule for their course and scholarship terms and conditions.As part of a recent review of academic progress, some Global Excellence Scholarship and International Student Award recipients have not met the continuation criteria for good academic standing. Depending on their progress, impacted students will have received correspondence from the Student Administration team advising that their scholarship has been suspended or that they need to increase their Weighted Average Mark (WAM) by the end of Semester 2, 2024 to retain their scholarship.Students’ academic success is very important to us, and we have several support services in place to assist them with either retaining or regaining their scholarship. This includes academic skills sessions and access to health and wellbeing services. Students can also reach out to the International Student Support team to book an appointment or contact their Student Advising Office if they have questions about course requirements.We understand this change in scholarship status may present financial difficulties for students whose scholarships have been suspended. To help alleviate this, we are offering an extended due date for their fees until the end of Semester 2, and we will not impose any late fees.Please be assured that we are committed to the academic success of all students and are available to provide any additional guidance or resources as required.
